The second section (Parts 8 to 12) is on general administrative and financial organization.
PART 1 – Estimate the cost of base plate (15 Points)
1.1 [ ] Look at the plan layout, elevations and cross sections of plan no. 2 and 6 1.2 [ ] Create appropriate count condition for base plate found in the foundation plan 1.3 [ ] Look online on RS means or cost data sheet for the cost of the base plate that you have
identified. 1.4 [ ] Enter the quantities and unit costs in your General Estimating Template .
PART 2 – Estimate the Outlets (15 Points)

3.4 [ ] Make notes for your assumptions. 3.5 [ ] What type of building it is ?
PART 4 – Estimate the Walls and Dry wall partitions (15 Points)
4.1 [ ] Look at the plan layout, elevations and cross sections 4.2 [ ] Create appropriate conditions for the different types of wall found in the plan no. 3,4
Assume the floor to floor height as 12 feet. 4.3 [ ] Estimate the cost of dry wall partition and assume the dry wall where brick masonry wall
is missing. 4.4 [ ] Look online for the cost of the constructing the wall that you have identified on RS means
and cost data sheet. 4.5 [ ] Enter the quantities and unit costs in your General Estimating Template
2
PART 5 – Estimate the studs (10 Points)
5.1 [ ] Look at the plan layout, elevations, schedules and cross sections for the walls 5.2 [ ] Calculate the studs required for the wall area. 5.3 [ ] Look online for the cost of the metal / wooden stud given in the plan. Home depot, Lowes, and RS means online has their price. 5.4 [ ] Enter the quantities and unit costs in your General Estimating Template 5.5 [ ] Make notes for your assumptions.

Company or organization of your own. Explain the type and scale of company you are going to form.

1. There is a dispute between the Prime- the Sub-contractor on the grade of steel used in reinforcement of the building footings. While the plans say use Grade 60, the Special Provision say Use Grade 40. The agreement between the prime and sub calls for following the contract documents. The sub used Grade 60. The Prime wants a $32,000 price adjustment as Grade 60 costs more than Grade 40.
2. A Paving Contractor was hired by a Homeowners Association to mill, pave and stripe the roads. The $500,000 contract calls for restriping the road in accordance with Broward County Traffic Engineering Standards and the Approved Engineering Drawings. The Contractor referred to a version of the Plans which was provided to it by the owner at the time of hiring, but was later revised by the engineer to accommodate City comments. And placed the striping using 4 inch lines instead of 6” lines. Removing the stripes are destructive to the new asphalt and can cause damage. How would you resolve the issue?
