Article 1:

Net Neutrality is exploring the question of whether Internet service providers can charge content providers for faster connectivity or familiarize readers with the history of the problem and the current claims surrounding it. (Higgins, 2016) Reliable text, well-chosen images, and descriptive material give the reader a clear look at these complex issues. Features include important facts, dictionary, additional resources, source notes, and index.

Article 2:

Network Neutrality is a principle that treats all Internet traffic equally, regardless of source, destination, content, practical, or other specific criteria. Due to Net Neutrality, Internet Service Providers (CPPs) may be forced to charge equally to all content providers (CPs) for the speed of GBPS, even as CPs' revenues increase. (Alharbi, 2020). The impact of abolishing Net Neutrality on communication networks by developing a feasibility study mixed-linear programming (MILP) model to generate revenue that can be achieved by providing ISP services to the CP. Also, the abolition of Net Neutrality has a positive effect on the energy efficiency of the network by reducing the main power consumption by 55% as a result of suppressing the intensive content of the data compared to the pure neutral scenario.

Article 3:

The Net Neutrality can reinforce and motivate charging CPs always to prioritize content, even when competing under pressure from a rival ISP. By promoting the general idea that direct competitive CPs will always maintain Net Neutrality, we see that in some circumstances, their position on Net Neutrality for the dominant CP is economically beneficial. (Hong, 2017).

Article 4:

The goal of network neutrality is to design rules for the Internet, an open, open space where innovations can flourish. Despite the widespread consensus that maintaining the quality of service content falls within the purview of Net Neutrality, the role of differential pricing, the practice is controversial. (Bayat, 2020). We develop a formula that varies from a typical prisoner’s messy game, from provider revenues to low-income startups to high-income earners and zero decision-making.

Classmate 2:

Net Neutrality has been a topic of discussion, especially due to advancements in technology and the internet becoming an essential part of businesses and our daily lives. Net Neutrality refers to the idea that all internet providers to treat all websites equally as required by the law. Net Neutrality explains the need for internet service providers to stop blocking those sites that have been authorized (Baranes, 2020). Net Neutrality seeks to balance and bring equality on the internet where no websites are favored over the others by being given a higher surfing speed more than the others or by paying extra for their pages to be the first to appear when people search. Net neutrality discussions have been all over, especially after the federal communication commission (FCC) idea to end it.

The Federal Communication Commission has been regulating how the internet works though enforcing certain laws. The rules and regulations provided have been a protection to the clients as well as promoting the quality of internet services. The concern that brings net Neutrality debate is whether broadband internet should be classified as a service or just a common carrier (Bourreau, 2019). Translating those classifications to the United States policy has been difficult, thus bringing the debate. Net Neutrality is a need for internet users but all the same, its policies should not impose losses to the service providers since they are vital in the internet provision.

Net Neutrality is going to affect different but all sectors that depend on and data that is stored on the internet. Data has become an important part of businesses today; it is impossible to run business operations without certain information. Net Neutrality will affect businesses in terms of accessing data and information on the internet (Robinson, 2018). The need for big data will lead to business transformations since data is crucial in the future decision-making processes. Prediction of future events depends on the data stored on the internet.

In my opinion, net Neutrality will not make IT more efficient. This is because when internet service providers are deprived of the ability to charge the subscription fee, then the services available on the internet will be of low quality since no one cares. Moreover, the surfing speed though high bandwidth pages will reduce, which will lead to slow downloading speed.  Slow internet service will lead to inefficient technology since some advanced features will be limited to allow equal surfing speed. Additionally, the present internet infrastructures have not reached the needed standard to handle the expected bandwidth consumption by internet users. It is important if bandwidth usage is limited to ensure that internet infrastructure is protected from being overloaded. (Iglezakis, 2020).
