Organizational Diagnosis
Organizational excellence refers to the ongoing established framework of efforts, standards, and processes that are aimed at engaging and motivating employees to be able to effectively deliver the products and services that meet business expectations as well as customers’ requirements (Lasrado, 2018). On the other hand, organizational diagnosis is an effective technique of viewing an organization to establish gaps in the estimated performance and the real performance to effectively give the idea of enhancing the organizational objectives. I was able to effectively give answers to the 40 questions given in the questionnaire concerning an organization I once worked at.
Considering the answers, I gave to the questions it is true to the organizational goals and objectives were clearly stated, and also the organization considered giving more flexibility to their employees. The organizational goals and objectives were clearly explained to all employees and ensuring that all worked towards achieving them. The organization also has very good leadership. While I was working in this organization I can testify that I also liked the leadership employed there. The organizational leader was a person who could effectively direct and also motivate the team members towards meeting the organizational goals. Also, the leader had the capability of making strategic decisions, managing conflicts effectively, and also encouraged participative management. This is why the organization succeeded in its operation. There was also a lot of opportunities for employees to grow in the organization since innovations made by employees were encouraged and also rewarded.
However, there were also challenges experienced for instance the challenge of accepting change and coping with it. I can say that most organizational members were resistant to change. This is mainly because most of them feared how this change will affect their normal working and how they were going to fit with the new ways of doing things (Hayes, 2018). I can relate this to when the organizational management decided that it will be important to reduce paperwork in the offices and move digital where most of the activities were done on the computer. This made most of the employees panic not knowing how to cope with this change.
Generally, the pursuit of achieving organizational excellence can enhance the overall prestige of an organization (Lasrado, 2018). And the additional resources that are employed in attaining excellence can be repaid with greater returns that come from the engaged employees, satisfied customers, and more efficient business operations.
