1. Draw a Use case diagram for the following scenario by using Visio or any diagram editor: (5

marks) – Submit as an image.

Fly-by Night Take-out Pizza wants to install a system to record orders for pizza and chicken

wings. When a customer calls on the phone, they are asked for their phone number. For

regular customers, when the number is typed into the computer, the customer info is printed on

the screen and the system is ready to accept the order. For a new customer, the customer info

is requested and inputted into the computer and the system is ready to accept the order. Once

the order is taken, the receipt is printed (with the amount and delivery charges included). From

time to time, special discounts are given to regular customers and this is included in the receipt.

The order is given to the cook which prepares and completes the order. The order is given to

the driver who delivers the pizza and gives the customer the receipt and collects the payment.

Weekly totals are kept for the purposes of comparison with last year’s performance.

2. Complete the following use case narrative (5 marks) – Submit doc or excel file

After a strenuous workout, you find yourself quite thirsty and thus run to the nearest soda pop

vending machine. Because you are a systems analyst, you decided that you should create a

Use Case narrative for the process of buying a soda pop from a vending machine. (Hey Nerd,

get a life….)

USE CASE NAME: Buying soft drink from a vending machine

ACTOR(S): A really tired and thirsty systems analyst

DESCRIPTION: The analyst puts money into the machine and receives a can of soda

pop

REFERENCES

PRE-CONDITION: The vending machine is working

POST-CONDITION: The analyst gets his soda pop and quenches his thirst

ASSUMPTIONS: The vending machine will not fail during this Use Case

The analyst will use legal tender Canadian money
