Implementing Cloud Computing

Cybersecurity Planning and Management

Technological advancement has led to new ways of storing vast amounts of data. Cloud computing has been on-demand over the years due to the numerous advantages that are associate with moving data to the cloud. Some of the benefits include reducing costs. A business can choose a package that will suit the company better which as a result reduces the expenses involved in hiring technicians and equipment significantly. With cloud storage, there is flexibility in the workplace, ensuring that employees are flexible to work from anywhere. Migrating information to the cloud is thus a viable option to various companies due to the vast advantages associated with technology.

The most compelling reason that leads companies and individuals migrating information to the cloud is security. Advancements of technology have also led to an increase in attacks, especially by third parties to use the information of a company for various benefits (Singh & Chatterjee, 2017). Access of vital information by third parties may lead to companies losing both their strategy and competitive advantage. There is less risk of information getting lost in scenarios where physical security is compromised, and devices are stolen. With cloud computing, it is also easier to maintain traffics by scaling up and reverting when traffic is low to minimize costs.

My biggest security concern on moving information to cloud is the risk of data confidentiality where information can be accessed by other individuals. Various occasions have indicated that a third party has accessed data on multiple clouds leading to the vulnerability of the cloud users. Data security is always a significant concern, and there is always the risk of third parties getting the information (Kumar, Raj & Jelcia, 2018). However, compared to other, methods of storage, cloud storage is safer. Various researches have indicated that user passwords make it easier for hackers. It is thus recommended for organizations and individuals to come up with complex passwords.

Cloud storage has lots of advantages that it accrues to any given organization and a recommendation to companies not using it, to adapt it due to the vast benefits associated with technology.
