After reading chapters two through four, I went back and took a better look at chapter two Politics, Accountability, and Governmental Information Systems. Chapter two discusses how politics are more involved in the growth of the World Wide Web, electronic government, and the increasing digitization information of all kinds (Garson, 2020). I have located an article that gives an understanding of how the internet has affected the US political news market. The framework behind this reason is the driven lower cost of production for online news and consumers tend to seek out media that conform to their own beliefs (Nie, 2020). This framework predicts that consumers on the internet view these news sources should hold more extreme political views and be interested in a more diverse political to those who consume news through television. The theory has been tested and it seems that the people who combine their news viewing between television and online are more liberal (Nie, 2020). This is interesting to know that the news through the web and the television can give political a different viewpoint.
