Research Paper

Fall 2021

We will be working on the research paper for the remainder of the semester. In the last few weeks we have explored a number of topics: Education, Technology, Gender, Food, and Race.

You are going to choose one of these topics and ask a question about that topic based on the initial readings you have done. This will be your research question. In order to answer this question, you will conduct research. The answer to your question will be your thesis.

Over the course of the next 3 weeks, we will work on this research paper piece by piece.

Your paper should be 5 pages, typed double spaced.

You will need 5 sources. You may use 1 of the articles that we read in class.

You need at least 1 direct quote from each source.

Paper Structure

Introduction

- Introduce your topic - Define your topic/background information - Thesis

Literature Review

- Synthesize what your sources say - What makes them credible?

Discussion

- How do your sources answer your initial research question?

Conclusion

- Summarize what you have written - Why does it all matter?
