Synopsis: LightStream is a Southeast Asia-based IT outsourcing and support company with additional locations throughout the U.S and South America. They are in search of an affordable and easy- to-use data backup solution that can be managed from the listed operating systems below. After considering several backup platforms that were either too expensive or too difficult to use, they are looking to deploy critical line-of-business applications that can be deployed on Azure virtual machines. They also need to connect and leverage their on premises environment in the cloud. They are looking for collaborative solution for internal business units.

Need: To implement a flexible and affordable cloud-based backup solution using Azure to save money on its backup costs to generate additional revenue, and save staff time. You need to recommend a deployment solution for the application. The solution must provide a guaranteed availability of 99.9 percent and maximum security and support plan option. Present the best solution to the decision makers and provide a brief demonstration of how this will be deployed.

Considerations: You need to make recommendations of the minimum number of virtual machines and the minimum number of availability zones for deployment. You need to identify which Azure management tools can be used from each computer. You will manage the project in sprints to track the progress.

Team Responsibilities:

Project Manager (PM): Present, works with team to develop the project tasks and timeline

Technical Sales Engineer: Present, answer support questions, and upselling

Business System Analyst (BA): Gather and translate requirements and work with the PM and IT

Azure Engineer I: Research and design the overall system infrastructure, recommend best practices

Azure Engineer II: Research and build out the system specs for demonstration

General Discovery: Perform a deep discovery that collects data around providing best practices for the following:

• Physical Locations, Network Interconnectivity, and Protocols • Infrastructure Components (Compute/Storage/etc..) • Data Services, Management & Analytics • Business Continuity, Replication and Disaster Recovery • Project Management Methodology

Project Delivery Output

After completion of this project, students will have the ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate the capabilities of Azure and what has been covered in the course. They will be able to use critical thinking, network infrastructure design, team building and project management to complete the tasks of working in a real-world scenario in an Agile methodology (SCRUM).

Create a storage account and database with customer records information

Create Multiple Factor Authentication and SSO for Access Control Management

Create an Azure Network Security Group (NSG) firewall to allow or deny network traffic to resources connected to Azure
