The purpose of this assignment is to provide an opportunity to be proactive in your job search by conducting a career clarification and goal/path exercise. This exercise is designed to assist you in identifying career goals for the next 3-5 years and the path to achieve the goals. There are several steps that need to be taken to complete the exercise. Complete each section as you go. Do not rush through this assignment, take time to contemplate, talk with business professionals, professors and colleagues to gain a deeper understanding of all aspects of the goals and path you are choosing.
Complete your work in the example format as shown below, although you will need more space. The expectation is your submitted work will be a minimum of 1200 words (~400 already in this document and 750 your work). Include the word count at the end of your work.
Step One: In this section identify 1-3 career goals that are specific, realistic and reflect the following: 1) your interests-things you like to do, 2) aptitude-things you have a predisposition to do well and; 3) ability - skills and knowledge gained over time in a specific area.
