Capstone Project PowerPoint Presentation
This capstone course will require a team project PowerPoint presentation which will be a BEST PRACTICES PRESENTATION. The project presentation will be a detailed presentation worth 100 points that will be due at the end of the 5th week.
The project presentation should demonstrate knowledge in the chosen area. The presentation should be formatted as follows:
Apply a Design Theme to the presentation
Use APA style correctly throughout the presentation (this does not include the Times New Roman, 12 point font size– use the font size that is default for the Design Theme that is applied).
Use correct grammar and punctuation
Format correctly and consistently
Include a cover slide, introduction slide at the beginning of the presentation, a conclusion slide at the end of the presentation, and a reference slide using APA format at the end of the presentation.
Number all slides beginning with the cover slide as page 1
Utilize 10 references from scholarly sources…do NOT use Wikipedia or Patents (one source can be the textbook)
Cite references within the presentation using correct APA format
Include a minimum of 16 slides which will include the cover and reference slides
Include at least one figure or one table in the presentation and format in APA style
Include at least one slide that details global aspects of the project
Highlight your knowledge of technology by including some transition and some animation
Follow the 7x7 rule: No more than 7 bullets per slide, and no more than 7 words per bullet. If you wish to explain further in your presentation, please use the Notes Pane at the bottom of the slides.
The BEST PRACTICE PRESENTATION can be chosen from one of the following topics:
• Business process and IT outsourcing
• Collaboration tools
• E-commerce
• Enterprise systems
• Business intelligence and big data
• Knowledge management
• IT security
• Project management
• Disaster recovery planning
• Managing information systems
• Web-based training systems
• Software testing and quality assurance
• Document and records management systems
• Mobile application and mobile learning
• Other possible topics with professor permission
Choose a topic in which you are interested and in which you have prior knowledge. Research best company practices for the particular topic. Use at least 10 references from scholarly sources. Students must include global impact in their chosen topic.
Your team will be assigned by the professor. Only one presentation per team should be submitted. If more than one presentation is submitted, there will be a grade penalty.
PLEASE INCLUDE ONE SLIDE THAT LISTS THE NUMBER OF THE SLIDES THAT EACH STUDENT CREATED SUCH AS:
Pat Cowherd (Slides 1, 4, 6, and 9)
Mickey Mouse (Slides 2, 5, 7, and 11)
Etc.
There will be a checkpoint discussion for the Capstone Team Project (0 points, but required). Team members will be assigned in Week Two by your professor. Beginning in Week 3, all teams members are required to contribute to this checkpoint. The checkpoint will be in the Course Resources section of the online classroom where each team member will be able to contact the other members of their teams to discuss the topic of their presentation, choose a team leader, designate subtopics to all team members, discuss progress of presentation, etc. The team leader will be the one to upload the presentation to the link in the Moodle classroom. Only one presentation should be uploaded per team! This checkpoint discussion is required and all team members must participate!
