Survival in Call of the Wild

Have you ever wondered what it is like to like to live in the point of view of a sled dog, trying to survive in the wild?In the novel Call of the Wild it portrays the actions and emotions of a Saint Bernard named Buck, the author Jack London was writing this book while the Gold Rush was taking place which highly influences the decisions London made while writing about Buck’s adventures. In Call of The Wild by Jack London the author uses Curly’s violent death, the man in the read sweater’s harsh discipline, and Mercedes’ arrogance to show that some people are not fit for survival because they cannot adapt.

Curly’s death is very gruesome but it is also symbolic and a representation of not being fit for survival. Curly being a new friend of Buck on the way to the north, tried to be friendly and greet a husky
