The 2020 Workforce

An institution's workforce is an integral aspect in achieving the set goals, vision and mission of the fraternity. With the constant advancement in technology and increased globalization the trends in global workforce change drastically over time (Hankin, 2005). It is essential that a company keeps up with the changes in order to compete favourably with other players in the industry. The management ought to learn and implement these new trends in order to remain in the industry.

Allegiance is a global marketing company that deals in health and fitness products. It was founded by Malick Bosse in Indonesia and has since opened branches in 26 nations worldwide. Some of the products include slimming tea, Fat burn pills, food supplements among other medicinal products. They also deal fitness equipment like exercise bikes, massage tables, and belts among others. The company has a huge workforce from the managers to the low level distributors in all these countries.

The company is keen on growing its workforce as it is the backbone of the business. One of the major motivators is travel. Each year, a group of qualified distributors are sponsored on a world tour. After the tour the team attends the annual anniversary celebration in Indonesia. The employees are chosen based on their performance for the year. The whole trip is sponsored by the company including the travel, accommodation and meal expenses. Each of the attendees are also awarded $3000 as a compensation for the time off their job.

Secondly the company motivates its employees through constant promotions. For every sale an employee makes, they are awarded some points. After the employee gets ten points they are promoted to being a silver executive then gold executive and finally a global ambassador. Each level has its benefits. It also comes with profit bonuses for the employee.

Finally, the company highly regards performance hence heavily reward their employees for exemplary achievements. Once the team leaders recognize a team member with extraordinary achievement, they reward them with cars or computers.

The company’s workforce is gradually growing and changing with time. The growth is attributed to the expansion to different countries and setting up in new geographical areas. The workforce is changing due to increased diversity and globalization. Employees are looking for more flexible and more diversified benefits from their jobs. They are also championing for more involvement in company activities (Hankin, 2005).

Some of the major trends in the global workforce include younger people taking office, embracing new talent and technology and better pay. Younger employees require better pay as they work harder and longer compared to older ones. The company should be ready to meet their needs as they bring new talent and more energy that the industry requires. It should also embrace the new trend of remote work. Working remotely enables the employees to have more time to tend to their personal lives while working on their careers and make profit for the company as well (Hankin, 2005). It also works so well with the younger employees.

Another notable trend is increased involvement of the employees in the company’s decision making process and other activities. The more the employees are involved the higher the performance since it gives them a sense of belonging. Employees bring new and better ideas on board that could improve their performance as well as build good relationships between the human resource and the management (Hankin, 2005). Finally the company should increase the role of technology and artificial intelligence through automation. Thomas Blair, a cofounder of eMercahnt Broker, suggests that instead of training employees to learn new skills, artificial intelligent systems may be used.

Some of the trends in marketing that are affecting Allegiance include increased focus on customer experience and personalization. Allegiance is keen on improving their strategy through customer feedback. Customer satisfaction is the greatest strength any marketer can have. Building customer trust and loyalty through improving their experience is key tool in successful marketing. The other trend that is affecting the company is personalization (Kimmel, 2005). The world today is keen on maintaining personal privacy. The company is therefore looking to improve personalization of their products.

In conclusion, the marketing industry is a dynamic field owing to improve technology, diversity and globalisation. Each company is looking to entice customers from all geographical regions of the globe. To achieve this goal, a company requires an empowered workforce that will enable the company to stand out among its competitors. The company therefore needs to keep up with global trends in management of its workforce and in the industry at large.
