When responding to classmates, compare their example to your own and try to suggest specific ways you or your peers could use the information that journal to become better at our future jobs. How is research important to our specific careers?
1. Journal of Small Business Strategy is an applied research journal. Articles are written with the small business in mind. Articles with a significant strategy orientation are the focus of the journal. An example article is: Changing with the time: New ventures’ quest for innovation is an article that researches and analyzes how new ventures can improve their innovation search by entering collaborative workspaces It is a qualitative study, That uses participative observation and analyze 8 cases of new ventures operating in a co-working-space. This journal and the related articles are of great interest to me because when I retire from the military I want to open and run my own automotive restoration shop.

2. Since my degree program is Multidisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Homeland Security, I started looking at academic journals on terrorism and how to combat it. The journal I found is titled "Police Practice and Research". Besides what the title obviously states, there were a number of articles on terrorism and how to combat this criminal act. Different articles discuss the the linkage of terrorism to international organized crime cartels. They both use similar tactics and methods, such as money laundering, transferring funds, also trafficking narcotics to fund their operations. It is very interesting to see how much these two organizations mirror each other in their concepts.
