Assessment Task 3 Instructions
Complete the following activities:
1. Participate in a debriefing meeting
This assessment task requires you to meet with your assessor, who will roleplay one of the team
members who has requested a debrief with you about the project. The team member has
advised that he would like to review the findings of the environmental sustainability and resource
usage efficiency inspection record and share some thoughts on the project.
At the meeting, you are required to review and discuss the completed environmental
sustainability and resource usage record (Resource Use Report) with the team member to
assess the outcomes of the inspections conducted.
At the meeting, your assessor will also provide you with some unexpected information with
regard to their view of the lack of success of the project. Take time to consider it and then
discuss and debate opportunities for improvement and innovation based on the information
provided. Think about the challenges to innovation you identified in Assessment Task 2 and
incorporate this into your discussion.
You will be required to demonstrate how you can positively respond to information through
acknowledging the team member’s perspective, discussion and the use of effective
communication skills, including:
Speaking clearly and concisely
Using non-verbal communication to assist with understanding
Asking questions to identify required information
Responding to questions as required
Using active listening techniques to confirm understanding
2. Develop a reflection report
Following the meeting, you are required to develop a reflection report based on the team
member’s input, as well as further research and your overall reflections.
You are also required to further identify innovative approaches to implementing environmental
sustainability using the sources of information that you identified in Assessment Task 2. You will
highlight these in your report as examples of success that you would like your organisation to
aspire to.
Now develop a reflection report that addresses:
A summary of the outcomes to date as per the completed environmental sustainability and
resource usage efficiency inspection record,
An explanation of the information provided by the team member and the ideas you
discussed based on the feedback.
The challenges of innovation, including your current issues such as lack of resourcing, in a
constructive manner.
