BUSINESS MANAGEMENT DISCUSSION POST
BMGT 496 Wk 3 K. ROWLAND initial post:
Employee Bill of Rights
An employee shall have the right to a work environment free of discrimination due to age, gender, race, etc.
An employee shall have the right to a work environment that is safe and in code with current OSHA regulations.
An employee shall have the right to reserving their position during family and disability related leaves.
An employee shall have the right to time off based on the hours worked in a calendar year.
An employee shall have the right to insurance through the company if they work full time.
A BFOQ is a "defense to acknowledged discrimination, usually based on the existence of a facially discriminatory policy, such as "individuals over the age of 50 shall not be hired as police officers" (2002). This is a loophole of sorts for companies to use in order to make sense of their discriminatory actions.
