RUNNING HEAD: ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO 1

ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO 4

One of the donors to the park is the “Sophie Danforth Conservation Grants Fund” which was established by “Rhode Island Zoological Society” and “Roger Williams Park Zoo” in 1989, backs preservation programs which protect endangered habitats and wildlife globally. Field explorations and additional projects which exhibit a multi-disciplinary methodology to ecosystem and biodiversity preservation and projects which involve in-country collaborators get the highest financing importance (ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO & CAROUSEL VILLAGE, 2019). Environmental learning programs, development of methods which might be utilized in a natural atmosphere, and captive proliferation programs which stress an integrative attitude to preservation are further suitable. Projects must directly influence biological preservation (Nahabedian, 2018).

One potential donor that I would contact is the “Chow Fun Food Group” which is based is family-operated and family-owned. Like any family business, they love their local community and neighborhood. The business takes pleasure in helping their neighbors and friends in any manner possible. The business was involved in the “Zoobille! Feast with the beasts”, the biggest single-fundraiser is presenting fine fair from loads of the area’s best caterers and restaurants. The visitors would enjoy wonderful entertainment including dancing and live music, and additional fun surprises. The event is an adult-only, specifically above 21 years only with the ticket including all food tastings with cash bars and hydration stations also available. The event raised in excess of $230,000 in 2019 and if this is evident to go by, then “Chow Fun Food Group” is one donor organization the zoo could work with since they care about the community in general but also want to promote animal conservation which is the principal aim of the zoo. The organization uses public events like the “Zoobille! Feast with the beasts” to raise funds which are directly given to the animals shelter like Roger Williams Park (Boyle, 2012).

Another donor I would reach out to is “The Paul G. Allen Family Foundation.” Its mission is to transform lives and fortify communities by nurturing innovation, developing knowledge and encouraging social development. The organization was created by Microsoft co-founder, Mr. Paul G. Allen with the aim of addressing the needs they observed in the Pacific Northwest. The foundation reconfigured its program this year to stress measurable accomplishment in four areas: advancing technological and scientific knowledge of the world; reacting to the requirements of vulnerable operations; engaging kids more intensely in the learning process and nurturing the cultural and arts endeavors. Funding urgencies within the program are public-private initiatives, investments in operational organizations and artistic venture projects. The website of the foundation offers specifics on the grant making process of the organization. I would contact the organization because they support various wildlife and animal conservation projects that will be of the help to the zoo.

The best way for the zoo to increase donor giving is working with other local organizations in the country. The zoo should take the opportunity to reach out to the other organizations see what they are up to. Majority of these organizations will be happy to help promote the zoo in general and their fundraises too. The reason I prefer this approach is because organizations with similar interest will most probably know of the best way to improve the donor giving for the zoo. They might introduce the zoo to its donors and in the process, expand the donor reach for Roger Williams Park (Aquire, 2019).
