Part 2 - Write a cover letter for this open position. Follow the guidelines from the book ... 3-paragraph format.
P1 - Request and Job info … where found.
P2 - Details of position with emphasis of connecting your resume/skills to the open position
P3 - Contact info and follow-up
Tips ...
Several great examples of cover letters in the MindTap area this week.
· Remember the "you-view" ... NOT: I have skills and need a job ... YES: I can be an asset to your company, make contributions to your organization, etc.
· Remember ... your contact info, preferably in P3 ... email address, phone number
· Finally ... do not write: "possibly" "maybe" "hope" ... be confident and positive
· Paragraph 2 needs to highlight your skills and connect it to the verbiage written in the job posting
· FYI ... every cover letter must be customized; standard form letter will not get the job
