Introduction
The personal goal that I am proudest of is the successful submission of an essay write-up on climate change and thereafter winning the writing competition.

Introductory Paragraph
Five years ago, there was an environmental competition that focused on writing about current topics such as climate change, global warming, and wildlife management. I saw it as an opportunity to maximize my potential since I have always had a passion for the environment from a young age. As early as grade three, I would join my parents in tree planting activities and my teachers would always stress the value of taking care of the environment for the present and future generations. My mother was my role model, she was a part-time lecturer and an environmentalist who took part in several initiatives to create awareness about the environment. With great hope, she has always supported my passion and through this, I made a firm commitment to protecting the environment. I have always believed in hard work and determination and these two have kept me going in my personal life and my academics. I always came out first in my class and my teachers were confident that I would succeed. Winning the competition was worth taking, it was filled with numerous challenges but I was determined to weather the storms. There were days when I felt that I could not make it, some days I grew so weary that I was almost giving up. However, I stayed on track and never lost sight of my dreams. That is why the successful submission of my essay write-up on climate change and later winning the writing competition is the personal goal that I am proudest of.
