WEEK 1 ASSIGNMENT AND GRADE

During this first week, you explored the social work profession and what makes it such a unique profession. You can see that social work is as diverse as the clients that are served.

For this assignment, prepare a written response to the following:

· Identify a current social issue or problem that is of personal interest to you that you believe your role as a social worker could address.

· Visit a social work professional organization website such as the National Association of Social Workers to review what is known about the social issue/problem and the role of a social worker in addressing it.

· Prepare a short 2- to 4- paragraph reflection about your interest in the problem, and discuss what research has found about the problem so far.

· Provide a list of three current journal articles you have located in the NCU library that discuss research that has investigated your selected social issue/problem. (These are the supportive resources mentioned below in the assignment criteria.)
