Brief

Cyberbullying is bullying that takes place using electronic technology.  Thousands of young people are targets of bullying and cyberbullying every day, putting many at risk for outcomes such as depression or school absenteeism.  Working with kids to create ways to address these issues is an important responsibility for adults.  In the world of social media and online networking, the issue of safety continuously arises, particularly among teenagers.  Cyberbullying has unique challenges when compared to more traditional forms of bullying.

List some examples of cyberbullying that you can think of and do you know anyone or have heard about anyone who has been cyberbullied.  Critically analyse the responsibilities of social networking sites to stop cyberbullying.

· Take a position about the statement above and critically analyse it.

ASSIGNMENT 1 - RESEARCH ESSAY (20%)

Your task for this assignment is to research a few issues of the use of IT in a discipline of your choice (such as education, marketing, supply chain management, cybersecurity, data science, etc.,), and prepare an essay of no more than 1500 words (not including references list). 

Tip : Select a topic that is close to your area of study. 

Your topic of choice must be posted to the Discussion Board titled " Post your essay topic her " by Week 3 - Friday 5pm.

Please note that if you have not posted a topic by this time, you may be assigned a topic by your Lecturer.

Assignment I: Business Process Re-engineering Video

Purpose: by examining a current business process and identifying an area that can lead to improvement along with redesigning the workflow will allow students to carefully evaluate the various IT functions and understand how to apply IT strategies to management of enterprise IT operations.

Due Date: Week 5  Friday before 5 pm.

Length: 9-11 minute presentation video

Value: 30% 

Description:

Investigate and analyse a current business process from any business unit and identify an area where the use of IT can lead to improvement to solve problems and/or to take advantage of business opportunities along with redesigning/modifying the workflow.

Briefly describe the issue/opportunity and conduct situation analysis using tools such as SWOT, Porter's 5 Forces, PEST, Demand analysis as you see relevant, before discussing your suggestions in the process improvement model. Try to provide evidences to support your arguments, and this can be in term of references, framework, etc.

Choose a BPM tool, then draw both As-Is and To-Be business processes and highlight the role of each process owner and discuss how the changes will improve the business.

External students can choose to work individually or as a group of 2-3.

Assignment II: Business Case Presentation

Purpose: This assignment will enable students to identify which application portfolio would be most suitable for an organisation in the case study as well as being able to apply a system approach to the management of enterprise IT operations by determining input, process, output and feedback of the system, as well as being able to convince and persuade business executives to invest and implement in an appropriate application portfolio

Due Date: Week 8  Friday before 5 pm.

Length: 9-11 minute presentation with 500 words approx. for presentation notes excluding references

Value: 30%

Description:

Develop a business case presentation where a business issue and/or opportunity is identified. Then, suggest an application that would be most suitable for an organisation through applying a system approach to the management of enterprise IT operations by determining input, process, output and feedback of the system, as well as convince and persuade business executives to invest and implement in that particular application.

You can choose to do a voice-over Powerpoint presentation or a video.

External students can choose to work individually or as a group of 2-3.

Assignment III: Information Technology Strategic Plan

Purpose: The last assessment will take an assignment 2 as an initial plan and incorporate organisation’s values and objectives into a comprehensive IT strategic plan which will also include the factors such as budget, Return on Investment (ROI), Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as well as the overall security and ethical issues surrounding the organisation’s IT infrastructure.

Due Date: Week 12  Friday before 5 pm.

Length: 3,000-word report excluding references

Value: 40%

Description:

Take assignment 2 as an initial plan and incorporate organisation’s values and objectives into a comprehensive IT strategic plan which will also include other existing applications, the factors such as budget, Return on Investment (ROI), Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) as well as the overall security and ethical issues surrounding the organisation’s IT infrastructure.
