Discussion 1

Evidence based medicine, it is claimed, leads to improvements in clinicians' knowledge, reading habits, and computer literacy; provides a framework for teaching; enables junior team members to contribute to decisions; and allows better communication with patients and more effective use of resources. From an ethical perspective, the strongest arguments in support of evidence based medicine are that it allows the best evaluated methods of health care (and useless or harmful methods) to be identified and enables patients and doctors to make better informed decisions.

If better informed decisions lead to better care – the vision of the organization and the desired outcome for our patients.

How would you make quality information on health care institutions more accessible to consumers?

Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below.

Individuals, employers, providers, insurers, and the government are increasingly seeing health care as a shared responsibility. When making decisions about health care, consumers are expected to use a value lens (Yong et al., 2013). Health care organizations should strive to provide them with meaningful, easy-to-understand information about the performance of healthcare providers.

Therefore, I would make quality information on health care institutions more accessible to consumers by providing online performance reports that include patient experience and testimonials. This information can also be found in hospital pamphlets, fliers, and brochures.

Patients, insurers, and other consumers can find this information on hospital websites, newsletters, and broadcasts.

What are the future trends for Amazon?  How are the trends you identified viable within the current industry?

Cite your source(s) and respond to the response below.

Many of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic will be long-lasting, including the way consumers choose to shop. Because of disease transmission, many consumers prefer e-commerce options to ordering groceries and either picking them up or having them delivered to their home. The convenience and accessibility of this new service is likely to maintain post pandemic effects. For this reason, those grocery stores that can develop efficient software systems and websites to facilitate the online ordering process will develop a competitive advantage and increase market share in the industry. In addition, because most meals were made from home during quarantine the need for readymade meals increased to help alleviate the burden of preparing three meals a day for seven days a week (Well, Silverstein & Douglas Moran, 2021). The Kroger Co. will focus on the future trends of e-commerce, as will the remainder of the industry.

Industry trends show an increase in demand for e-commerce grocery platforms, which allows consumers to purchase goods from a phone application and choose how they want to receive it (pick-up or delivery). By capitalizing on this industry trend, The Kroger Co. can gain more market share and goodwill with consumers.
