Overview

Develop a project plan for a chosen project, including a charter, scope, and work breakdown structure (WBS), as well as a communications matrix and risk assessment.

Note: Managing a project requires specific steps that must be carried out in a certain order. Therefore, you must complete the assessments in this course in the order in which they are presented.

As project manager, you have been tasked with creating a project schedule that defines the tasks, duration, dependencies and resources to for a Chat App. Could you complete the following in Microsoft Project?

· Create a project to be completed in three months.

· Enter task details, including a minimum of 20 tasks for a marketing campaign project schedule.

· Add start and end dates for each task.

· Add resources that reflect the resources responsible for each task.

· Add dependencies between tasks. The project schedule should demonstrate at least five dependencies.

Overview

Project managers work with project management plans tailored to each specific project. We will be using a Project Plan Template (linked in the Resources) to complete project management tasks throughout this course for the project you chose in Assessment 1.

Context

In today's fast-changing and highly competitive environment, many companies are looking to project management to provide a structured and organized approach to managing projects through a well-planned and coordinated process. To begin to understand what is involved in the project planning, you must be able to:

· Identify elements to include in an executive summary of the project.

· Create a communications matrix.

· Identify the stakeholders of the project.

· Define a risk matrix and risk management plan for the project.

Instructions

Using the Project Plan Template, add the elements you created in the first assessment for your presentation:

· Project charter.

· Project scope.

· Work breakdown structure (WBS).

This week, create the following elements and add them to your Project Plan as well:

· Communications matrix.

· Risk matrix​.

Additional Requirements

· Written communication: Ensure written communication is free of errors that detract from the overall message.

· Length: Use the Project Plan Template.

· Font and font size: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font.

· Submission: Submit your Project Plan Template with the sections identified above completed.
