ONE FUNDAMNETAL BELIEF

Attending school is essential in ensuring that one is successful

Belief

Schools are institutions within which people attend to receive an education and skills as well to become worthy and capable members of the society. Through education, people are tuned to be able to live as civilized humans and maintain order. Through skills obtained through education, one can make an honest living out of their efforts and help solve real-world problematic situations. School hence produces capable people who can help grow and develop the society and subsequently become successful from their struggle and sweat. Schools do not discriminate and it has even in the past become clear that even the formerly poor have been able to achieve even that which was formerly perceived as impossible and unachievable. Some of the world’s wealthiest men are some of the world’s most educated and knowledgeable people.

Objection to the belief

Education maybe a little too idolized. Success and education obtained from attending school do not necessarily have a direct link. Success has mainly been articulated from undertaking that which one has a passion for. The world’s former world’s richest person on earth was a school drop out who made most of his wealth from his passion for making computers and computer software. Similarly, professional athletes and musicians have made of their wealth from their capabilities and talents that are mainly God-given and well-nurtured to fine-tune them into perfectionists in the arts they undertake in. If in any case any of these people pursued an education in various disciplines in education, they minimally use their academic qualifications to earn whatever wealth they possess. Schools have only indicated that they tend to lock and chain a person’s mind to think in a certain pre-programmed way yet it should be left to roam about and discover as much as possible by itself.

Response

Schools may have been articulated to placing invisible chains on a person’s mind, they, however, give infinite options to people to pursue whatever their hearts may desire and be passionate about. Schools have often been looked at in a rather wayward way. With knowledge imparted on someone from school, one has infinite power to shape their lives, society, and subsequently the world into whatever desirable object they may wish. Success may not necessarily be articulated in the form of monetary possessions. Knowledge is a form of wealth and success that may not be adequately measured on the same metric scale as other earthly possessions. With education obtained from schools, there are infinite opportunities presented before them.

FEEDBACK

Although I do not disagree with your claim that education is important, I do not know if it is a fundamental belief. First, the claim is not universal; your own objection section goes unanswered in your response. If someone is successful without a degree, that does not mean that they are not educated--they simply do not have a degree.

Your structure is clear, but perhaps too announced. Write for the greater audience, not just the assignment. Although you were to consider objections, it does not constitute a section.
