Note: ages listed are NOT the age range of the stages! They are the suggested ages with which to use each task for your assignment!
1. Object Permanence and “A-not-B” Tasks (6months- 2.5years)

4. Seriation Task (3yo-10/12yo)

· Instructions part A: “Arrange sticks from shortest to longest in a single row”
· If they succeed with part A, can do part B: inserting a new stick of medium length into the row
5. Classification (Class Inclusion and Multiple Classification)Tasks (3yo to 10yo)

· Class Inclusion Task: Present 8 (non-identical) toys: 6 cats + 2 dogs. Ask “Are there more cats or more animals”?
· Multiple Classification Task: Show children intersecting rows of object that vary along 2 dimensions (e.g., Shape and Colour- See Text Fig.2.6 for example) Ask child to choose the object that goes in the blank space (to see if they can complete the pattern)
6. Reasoning Task (7yo to adult)

· Note: the book describes the original chemical combination task, but that is hard
· Instead, do the following: Ask “how many different sandwiches can you make with the following ingredients: Bread, Honey, Ham, Cheese, Peanut Butter?”
