Project Proposal on Employee Satisfaction

Summary of the Project

Employee satisfaction is one of the vital aspects of any organization. It leads to increased productivity and the overall outcomes of the business. Food processing and production organizations should ensure the high safety of their products, making sure they are free from contamination caused by the workers or machinery. Employees fail to adhere to the set measures that reduce and prevent contaminations in the organization to ensure safe and quality products that lead to consumer satisfaction.

My project proposal is to adopt an electronic technology that monitors how the workers comply with the set measures to observe hygiene in the organization. Electronic technology include the use of CCTV to monitor how the employees work according to the set measures of hygiene. The project also seeks to determine the satisfaction and performance rate of the workers in the organization. There have been complaints about the low quality of the products in the food industry due to contamination in the production or processing stage of the products.

Goals and objective of the project

One goal of the project is to increase the quality of the products and retention of the customers. Customer satisfaction is one essential aspect of the growth and development of any organization. Bad quality of the products is a channel for the loss of long customers due to factors that can be controlled. The second goal of the project is to maintain a good reputation for the organization and its brand. A negative reputation of the company will lead to reduced sales as customers fear low-quality products.

The project's objectives include ensuring the employees adhere to the set hygiene measures while working in the organization through the adoption of electronic devices that monitor the progress of the workers in an organization. The idea of being monitored makes the workers stay reminded of the hygiene measures to adopt. For instance, when entering into the organization, they must sterilize their shoes by stepping on a disinfectant located at the entrance. A CCTV would ensure records if the worker adhered to the hygiene measure. Ensuring that the workers practice hand hygiene after visiting the washroom is another concern.

At some point, they forget and go back to the production unit without washing and disinfecting their hands. It contributes to increased contamination that leads to low-quality products of the organization and infections among the consumers. Another objective is to ensure consumer satisfaction, attraction and retention. Quality and safe products are the preferences of each consumer; hence the project works on achieving that.

Project management structure

The project works by managing and detecting the movements of the workers in the organization. There has to be an individual who checks the movement of the workers when they enter the organization in the production sector until they leave. The electronic monitoring devices are set at different locations to ensure they monitor all the movements efficiently.

The matrix management structure is efficient for project management. The structure brings together individuals who report to shifts in the company to monitor the project's progress. Precisely the project adopts a strong matrix management structure. As the project manager, I shall have more time and power concerning the project (Verma, 2013). Other project team members are below the project manager. In this type of management structure, it is important to note that much power is enjoyed by the project manager rather not the functional manager.

Another benefit is that the project manager makes decisions on the allocation of resources on the project. The PM determines any purchasing or replacement of any devices in the project. He can also utilize his project management skills on the projects because he has all the crucial knowledge regarding the project and what is needed in a specific section in the project.

Key customers and Stakeholders

The project accommodates two types of customers; an internal and external customer who defines and rates the project. Customers play an important role all through the project's success. An internal customer comes from the organization and is important in defining the project's success and effectiveness as one of the members of the organization. He has full information concerning the project and important in approving the project.

The external customer belongs to another organization. He compares the effectiveness of the project with the organization and his /her organization. Customers in a project have roles such as approving the project plan, requesting changes in the project, and approving or declining the product or service at the end of the project.

Two stakeholders in the project include users as stakeholders. These are the people who use the project's service and the beneficiaries of the outputs (Pm Tips, 2020). The stakeholders, in this case, are the production workers in the organization. The other category of the stakeholders in the project is governance as stakeholders. It defines the people who have an interest in how things are managed on the project. The stakeholders in this category are the management board of the organization.
