· Why does this position or industry segment interest you as a potential career?

I would like to work with Real Madrid Club de Futbol, which is a professional soccer club. This position interests me because I would be working with the third most valuable sport team in the world. (“Forbes Realeses 2018 List Of the World’s Most Valuable Sports Teams,” 2018). Also, it is the club I have followed since I was a kid and it would be a dream for me to work with them. Knowing that it is one of the most valuables teams in the world, working with them will give me so much experience, an elite club needs elite workers in every position and I would like to become an elite sport director.

Real Madrid’s, Mission is to be the best club of the 21st century ( Duro, 2014).

Real Madrid Soccer Club’s membership fees, ticket sales, revenue from international and friendly matches, and other revenues are 739,289 ( Real Madrid C.F., 2018).

Real Madrid’s Targets people who are passionated about soccer. They want fans that support th team in every occasion and they make that clear ech time a player or someone from the club Speaks. They do not have limits, they go international.

In 2018 Real Madrid had an amazing improvement for a club that big and famous. For the following season (2018/2019) they had a budget of 752 € million. We are talking about 1.1 million more than what they had the prior year. The expense for them this season was 421,897 thousands of euros (Real Madrid C.F., 2018).

Real Madrid’s has lots of major accomplishments. Real Madrid is the first club to win the UEFA Champions League three times in a row, which makes them the best team in soccer history. In total, they have won it 13 times, and the last 4 four they won it in a gap period of 5 years. Also, they are the club that has won more Spanish leagues, winning 33 times. Last but not least, Madrid also have 7 World Clup Cups.

SWOT Analysis

Strengths

1) Strong global brand name (Arif, 2013).

2) Excellent marketing.

3) They have multiple sponsors, such as; Adidas, Fly emiretes and Coca Cola.

4) Madrid is one of the most valuable teams in the world.

Weaknesses

1) Controversy in football matches and off-field player behavior (Arif, 2013).

2) Lesser popular club as compared to English clubs (Arif, 2013).

3) Despite having a galaxy of stars, Barcelona is overtaking them quickly (Arif, 2013).

4) Lack of people skills, between the president and the players.

Opportunities

1) The club is getting more fans from countries like, India, China, and USA.

2) Build soccer academies everywhere.

3) Opportunities to be more advertised.

Threats

1) Other teams are getting richer and there is more competition in the market.

2) FIFA restricting big clubs budgets.

3) Internal problems between players and management (Arif, 2013).

4) Players getting more tired due to international duties.
