1. Analyze critically the main features of the Sykes-Picot Agreement and its consequences for the formation of the new Middle East after the end of the First World War including its long-term implications for the contemporary Middle East.

2. Explain the areas of disagreement between Israel and Palestinians that have halted the Middle East peace process. Do you think that a lasting peace is on the horizon considering the current circumstances in the Middle East?
