1. Introduction
1.1 Breif Introduction
Learning is an important issue that takes an integral part in our everyday life. On the other hand, teaching becomes a great challenge, mainly because of the differences among students at the mental level as a whole. Besides, among the most difficult tasks of teaching process is to be in charge of a child described as a slow learner. Actually slow learners are students with below average cognitive abilities; those who take more time to learn than their peers.
The mentally retarded child, like the rest of the handicapped, has rights over society, and perhaps this handicapped person is more in need of care than any other group in that he does not know what is beneficial or harmful to him, and does not distinguish one degree or another between the characteristics of things and the nature of perceptions. Here, caring for the mentally retarded is a humanitarian and social necessity, in order to help him develop appropriate skills that help him in good assignment with reality (Taouinet, 2015).
The American Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities defines mentally retarded as "disability characterized by significant limitations in both intellectual functioning and in adaptive behavior , which covers many everyday social and practical skills. This disability originates before the age of 18" (AAIDD, 2010).
The prevalence of mental retardation is 2-3% of the population, but this percentage is affected by several factors, including the cultural, social and economic level in society, the priority of services for groups of citizens, and society's perception of the problem (Morsy, 1999). In addition, the most common category of disability in society is the category of learning difficulties, followed by the category of mental retardation (Greg, 2013).
The research can include different types of educational programs by classification learning difficulties of patterns Mental Retardation , to improve and develop owners' difficulty learning.
1.2 Problem Statement:
Muhammad Salem indicated that the problems faced by individuals who suffer from learning difficulty in mental retardation differ in type and quantity, and the problems are divided into several types :
A. Family problems:-
a) Problems mainly follow from parents' and sibling look towards a child with difficulty learning either as a look of pain or mockery of others.
b) Mockery, rejection and devaluation, considering it as the source of their misery and suffering, and that creates adaptive problems in the surroundings of his family.
B. Educational problems :-
People with learning difficulty need special care and care accompanied by the needs of
a) special educational resources and materials and scientific
b) Special educational preparation for teachers and qualified specialists in special general pedagogical methods and general and vocational education curricula for those with difficulty learning according to specialization and stages of time and mental age.
C. Social problems :-
When people with difficulty learning feel helpless, inferiority and weakness pushes him into introverted and solitude, he feels heartbreak, hatred of himself, life and those around him, either that feeling pushes him into jealousy and malevolence of ordinary others may lead to the emergence of tendencies aggressiveness is like vandalism and abuse, and sometimes people with difficulty learning suffer from the sensitivity of compassion (Salem, 2018). This is considered an incriminating and all of this leads to a lack of proper emotional adaptation to his disability (Salem, 2018).
1.3 Intial Concept
Developing children with mental retardation who have learning difficulties by creating an appropriate environment for their education and creating a place to educate society about the problems that this group faces.
