Question 1: Industries are most likely to embrace robotics?
In the years to come, the fear of robots taking over human being jobs is among the top challenges that face workers in the 21st century. This is because of the rapid increase in the number of industries together with increase in automation in those industries. This has been noticed, and it is advantageous because it could lead to huge profits for companies in the years to come since more robots that are more competent and also less prone to errors have the potential to take over human labor that are prone to error and less efficient. More industries have the capability of automating most of their tasks either physical work or management work and hence they will be increasing their overall productivity and profits. Such industries include; accommodation and food services, in agriculture, in transport and warehousing, in the construction industry and mining (Kiersz, A., 2019).
Question 2: Video review
From the two videos, there is a lot of information that need to be communicated because they are important. For starters, the first video, here it talks about how the development of robotics will one day end the need for human being labor in almost all industries. I would say maybe, but all in all humans will in one way or another be required to bridge the robots and the work they do. The next video was talking about what will happen to the humans once the robots take over all jobs. This one was pretty interesting because it left me with a couple of questions that are not easy to answer. What will happen if this happens, will we survive by benefits or will we need to find other ways to survive? I believe that we will just survive on benefits but the powerful leaders might make it difficult for the ordinary people to live peacefully. To prepare for these coming days, I would just work hard and invest in companies that are likely to exist for longer and hope that even if I lose my job, I would still have ways to survive.
Question 3: Application of pepper for commercial and personal purposes
Pepper was designed in order to help humans with both commercial and domestic work and this is made possible by the artificial intelligence technology from IBM’s cognitive computing engine “Watson.” (Winfrey, G., 2016). For commercial purposes, pepper is the best to use in the interaction with customers and clients since it can verbally communicate. Therefore, it could be an aid in providing information in a company’s premise for instance in an airport to help with directions. It can also provide demonstrations about various products produced by a company and also provide information. For personal use, pepper can be used for educational research and training. It can also provide information pertaining to navigation. Pepper can also be used in the household as a messenger or to retrieve staff. Moreover, it can be used as a communication partner now that it can read emotions (Reese, H., 2016).
