Look closely and describe

The first step in describing an artwork is to spend at least 15 minutes looking at it before you begin. This is called slow looking. Noticing the overall form of an object, its details, and the relationship between these two will provide the basis for the next steps (which we will do in a later assignment). For this assignment, we'll start with an object in your home that is of significance to your culture or to a culture that you admire. Choose something that will give you a lot of things to say about how it looks. It doesn't have to be an artwork and can be an everyday item, like a photograph, ceramic bowl, comb, lamp... you get the idea!

Describe the object. Written minimum 250 words

Requirements & Important Information

Please do not discuss the history of the object. Focus only on how it looks.
