What I chose
I chose a scene from Marc Maron’s most recent Netflix special: Too Real. I chose the opening scene because it draws upon Maron’s reputation to speak his mind and directly address controversy in his jokes. I have always admired this about Maron.
Why I chose this
Admired Marc Maron ever since I became interested in comedy
Have become interested in politics during my late teenage years
Hyperbolic humor
Jokes Made Utilizing This Literary Device:
Hunting being legalized in zoos
Turning the Grand Canyon into a landfill
Creative wit
Refers To the fact that he is afraid to check his phone and see what President Trump did while he was sleeping. This rhetoric leads the audience to draw comparisons between Trump and a small child, or a misbehaved house pet.
Exaggerating policies created by the Trump Administration

Maron makes a comparison between Donald Trump and his mentally disturbed stepfather
Intrigues the audience with details about his personal life
Evidence
Maron provides evidence of Donald Trump Pathologically lying and disguises it as a punchline relating to the Obama birth certificate controversy
By the time this bit is over Maron had provided four different instances in which one could argue that Trump was acting from a mentally unstable state of mind
