Gender​ ​Pay​ ​Gap​ ​Title

​ ​​Gender​ ​inequality​ ​in​ ​the​ ​workplace​ ​has​ ​always​ ​exsisyted​ ​in​ ​the​ ​form​ ​of​ ​​ ​a​ ​wage​ ​gap.​ ​This​ ​gap​ ​is bewteen​ ​the​ ​difference​ ​in​ ​pay​ ​of​ ​men​ ​and​ ​women,​ ​for​ ​equal​ ​or​ ​similar​ ​postitions​ ​and​ ​duties​ ​within​ ​the workplac.e​ ​Altough​ ​the​ ​gender​ ​pay​ ​gap​ ​is​ ​narrowing,​ ​it​ ​has​ ​hit​ ​a​ ​plateau​ ​in​ ​recent​ ​years.​ ​​ ​​ ​With​ ​this​ ​nearly accidental​ ​practice​ ​emerging​ ​in​ ​our​ ​adolescence,​ ​it​ ​only​ ​is​ ​domesticated​ ​into​ ​a​ ​larger​ ​beast.​ ​With​ ​women only​ ​becoming​ ​more​ ​and​ ​more​ ​underrepresented​ ​in​ ​leadership​ ​roles,​ ​it​ ​seems​ ​that​ ​this​ ​aspect​ ​of​ ​the equality​ ​movement​ ​grows​ ​more​ ​unnoticed.​ ​This​ ​issue​ ​persists​ ​due​ ​to​ ​the​ ​complexity​ ​of​ ​it’s​ ​origin.​ ​For example,​ ​this​ ​issue​ ​can​ ​be​ ​traced​ ​back​ ​to​ ​socioeconomic​ ​status​ ​within​ ​a​ ​child’s​ ​family,​ ​or​ ​perhaps​ ​even the​ ​belief​ ​that​ ​one​ ​is​ ​superior​ ​to​ ​other​ ​as​ ​pertaining​ ​to​ ​societal​ ​scales​ ​(O’Brien,​ ​abstract.)​ ​As​ ​many​ ​of these​ ​factors​ ​collide,​ ​it​ ​can​ ​become​ ​either​ ​under​ ​simplified,​ ​or​ ​overly​ ​complex​ ​when​ ​one​ ​tries​ ​to​ ​depict this​ ​issue​ ​at​ ​its​ ​core.
