Should Marijuana Be Legalized, If Yes, Provide Reasons, If No, Present Your Argument

A few countries have already accepted marijuana as a beneficial drug separating it from other harmful drugs. Various beneficial features have been related to its use. The legalization of marijuana could help in boosting the economy of many countries. Additionally, its legalization would also help in decreasing the level of crimes in the society (Mönckeberg B, 2014). On the other hand, legalization of marijuana has its disadvantages especially when its used for erroneous purposes. It’s important to consider that marijuana is not entirely safe and can easily lead to addiction. In my opinion, marijuana should not be legalized considering its harmful effects like addiction and increased traffic accidents (Mönckeberg B, 2014). This topic is highly essential bearing in mind that the use of marijuana has caused immeasurable damage to the society.

It is essential for government to consider illegalizing marijuana since its consumption remains one of the contributing factors to mental health conditions and addictions, causing significant damage to the users' lives. In my view, some drugs are legalized, while others are not because of their outcomes (Mönckeberg B, 2014). This is determined by the fact that the amount of harm that is caused by these drugs on the body remains an indicator that dictates their legality or illegality. The main audience for this particular topic is the teens who have been adversely affected by the use of marijuana with some becoming addicts.

However, for a drug to be classified as criminalized or illegal, a drug may need to be scheduled under the provisions of the poison standards as such or as having a separate criminal issue in drug legislation which is not the case with marijuana (Mönckeberg B, 2014). Therefore, there is a need for persuasion to both the users and the government on the effects of marijuana. This topic is relevant to my course since it also encompasses mental and other health issues which are likely to be harmful to the body of a human being.

Would The World Be a Better Place Without Alcohol? Provide Your Arguments

Alcohol is one of the deadliest drug in the world while it’s the most lawful drug worldwide. In spite that alcohol is known for breaking social obstacles, it can have severe consequences on the mind and body of the user. Alcohol consumption is credited for the protection of the heart. Sources have confirmed that alcohol helps in the reduction of heart related case as well as the moderation of blood glucose in the body (The, 2008). On the contrary, alcohol consumption is known to cause skin deterioration since it deprives the skin of its crucial nutrients. It also increases the amount of calories in the body causing many health complications.

It might seem easy to claim that everyone does not have to be limited from alcohol consumption. In my opinion, the world would certainly be a better place without alcohol. Alcohol is a highly addictive substance which should be eliminated from the world. This topic should be addressed by the relevant authorities to ensure that they find means of eliminating alcohol from the world (The, 2008). The target audience in this topic are the alcohol consumers who should understand the implications of alcohol consumption.

I believe that the world without alcohol would be a better place since the true personalities of people would be revealed. People who don’t have great personalities appear to be boring and simple minded and are not able to make friends. In that case, they tend to engage themselves in alcohol in order to be relevant (The, 2008). Without the existence of alcohol, these kind of people would engage themselves in other fruitful ways to be productive.

In my view, the topic on the legalization of marijuana should be addressed since the drug could be a great source of danger to the users and the society at large (Mönckeberg B, 2014). Considering the various advantages of marijuana to the users and the overall economy, the topic on its illegalization will not be easy since it will involve convincing the audience of its dangerous effects. The question is; Are there better ways to achieve the stated advantages of marijuana?
