In their article about Georgia’s Senator Purdue, Arkin and Everett make attempt to describe arguments of moderate supporters of Trump’s administration. The strong opposition inside the Republican Party was a large problem in the middle of Trump’s term. It is now less topical as more political figures such as Senator Purdue start finding positive outcomes of Trump’s political decisions in domestic and foreign policy. Basically, using Purdue’s example, the authors reflect on growing consciousness in the GOP, that the inner opposition to Trump inside the party created numerous issues for Republicans. All in all, the senator claims that it does not matter who will be the candidate at all. The article provides a useful insight on the inner tensions inside the GOP and they are now solved by Republican congressmen. Finally, although the article does not provide numerous evidence on how the inner opposition shifted against Trump’s agenda in the Republican Party, it marks that there is a strong tendency towards its weakening.
