1-Research Question: Should the Turkish Government legalize the death penalty in Turkey?

2-Working Thesis: Legalizing the death penalty in Turkey would cause some difficulties in order to become a member of EU.

3-Claim: Abolition of the death penalty is an explicit and absolute condition to become a member of the EU.

4-Evidence: All EU Member States have abolished the death penalty.

5-Analysis: In order to become a member of EU, the Turkish Government has to keep the death penalty away from Turkish voters. It is perdictable that the results would be so dramatic for Turkey’s future.

The question ‘’ Should the death penalty have an age ceiling?’’ soon triggered heated debate between opponents and supporters in China. It was a useful source to compare more countries other than the U.S. with Turkey. Asking the right questions is key to finding the right answers. So, it is an excellent source to use.
