Power of language
The dictionary defines language as “the principal method of human communication, consisting of words used in a structured and conventional way and conveyed by speech, writing, or gesture.” Language can be given different definitions and meaning by different people but almost every person will have the same main point which is that, language is the key to communication and understanding one another. Language plays a major role in our day to day life.
Once upon a time every single person on earth spoke the same language, one language but according to bible different languages were brought to this world by God to establish the greater good. The tower of babel was being built in the intention of reaching the gates of heaven that was when God observed and decided to give the people different languages so they wouldn’t be able to understand each other and scattered them all over the world.
When coming to the modern world, the modern society we can say that language is a means to initiate social, educational and economic conditions. Language is said to be powerful and dominant when it is acknowledged by a broader or extensive community than the just closest people to you. Right now English is considered the most powerful and dominant language of the three G7 nations (USA, UK and Canada).
It is estimated that six thousand five hundred languages are spoken in the world today. Some spoken more often and in a wide range than others and others are in the danger of being extinct. Where I am from which is Ethiopia that is found in Africa. We have more than eighty five different languages and Amharic being the official and mainly spoken language in the country.
Language is a combination of words that has the power to influence, motivate or guide people to a better future or development. At the same time it has the power to break someone as much as it has the power to ignite them inside. Language should be spoken carefully and the words chosen should be up to standard with the audience. There is no point in using meaningful and sophisticated words if the time and place and most

Power of language
importantly the audience does not match it. Lack of good words and proper usage of language goes a long way to be seen as a powerful speaker or communicator. It is easier for everyone to judge a person by their vocabulary.
I believe that language should be used as a way to motivate and influence one another instead of finding the flaws in a person and using that against them. When you have the power to do good and use all the words in the world to bring each other up why use it for something else. By always speaking the positive with a good vocabulary or not you can influence others by the way you speak by the way you give your speech.
In conclusion, language holds a great deal of power for someone who knows how to use it. You can gain leadership and well known recognition with the vocabularies chosen by you and the words and the speech you give. Through language anyone can do good like motivate, persuade and inform at the same time you can do wrong by deceiving and manipulating others.
