Analyzing Evaluation Results
The Special Education department utilizes the i-Ready diagnostic assessment to
determine current baseline data and identify specific skills that students are experiencing
difficulties with. The Fall assessment window opened on the 2nd week of October andl closed
on November 10, 2022. As a supplemental assessment, teachers also used the iXL diagnostic
tool to actively monitor student quarterly progress. In the early Fall 2023, students were
assessed using the i-Ready assessment to determine if we achieved our goal with at least 60%
of students with disabilities demonstrating an increase of 1 or more grade level on their Math
Skills on the iReady Assessment at the end of the school year.
Table 1 and Table 2 show the i-Ready Math diagnostic results for Fall 2022 and Spring
2023.

Question 1: What can you derive from the assessment results?
Figure 1. Sample 1 of Student Performance on IXL Math Diagnostic Assessment
Figure 1 demonstrates the overall annual growth of an 11th grade student with (severe)
disability enrolled at Hanford High School’s Life Skills program performing two or more below
grade level in Math. Based on the IXL diagnostic assessment report, the student’s overall Math
level increased by 2 grade levels, from 160 (1st grade) to 320 (3rd grade).
Figure 2. Sample 2 of Student Performance on IXL Math Diagnostic Assessment
Figure 2 demonstrates the overall annual growth of a 9th grade student with (moderate)
disability enrolled at Hanford High School’s Life Skills program performing two or more below
grade level in Math. Based on the IXL diagnostic assessment report, the student’s overall Math
level increased by 2 grade levels, from 160 (1st grade) to 320 (3rd grade).
Question 2: What conclusions can you draw from Figure 1 and Figure 2 pertaining to the
i-Ready assessment post-diagnostic results (% Students Two or More Below Overall
Grade-Level Placement)? Did they reach their goal?
