(Adonis)The project I have selected for this course is a database management system for Halcyon Medical Complex. The healthcare center is focused on performing extensive research projects on developing and testing new drugs. Halcyon currently does not have an integrated database management system that is satisfying its needs. The current record system does not have the entities, relationships, or details (attributes) that Halcyon requires. The requirements are to be collected gradually by conducting several interviews and stakeholder meetings. The hospital is currently relying on manual processes of record management and it is proving to be hectic, and inefficient and data is constantly being lost. I selected this project because Halcyon is in a dire need of a database management system, and another reason is that I have a passion for database management and administration, and I believe this project will provide me the opportunity to apply my passion and practically learn the complexities of database management.
