|
Create and implement a systematic way to explore the options for an academic major or a career.
|
Proposal
|
1. Before you begin the exploration submit a written proposal for approval. Do not begin your plan without approval. · In the 1st section, describe, with adequate detail, your current situation or indecision pertaining to a major or career. Clearly state your goal for the exploration.
· In the 2nd section, identify at least 6 significant action steps (maximum 2 online), in detail, that you will do in order to complete your exploration. Clearly state why you think each will be a valuable action to take.
· In the 3rd section, list your plan be clearly identifying when and where you will implement each action. |
You will need from 1 to 2 weeks for implementation.
Keep in mind this exploration has a due date so all action steps must be completed prior to it. |

Plan and Conduct the Exploration

2. Chunk this project by creating a planning tool that will keep you on task.
Execute your approved plan and collect documentation of your action steps.

Use a Target Planner or your planner i.e. D’s Due and Do Organizer or a variation. Only deviate from your plan when you acquire information that will help you achieve your goal. |

3. Submit a screenshot or copy of your planner showing when you planned and did each action step.
4. Attach all documents that clearly illustrate the implementation of each action step cited in the proposal. |

Become acquainted with your strengths and interests. Take control over a situation that requires planning. |
Reflection
|
5. Write a reflection. · Compare your condition before you began your exploration and after. · Describe the effect each action had on changing your current situation. · If you had to deviate from your plan explain why. · Explain the impact doing this exploration had on you. · The reflection should be at least 3 full pages, typed and double-spaced.

Submit your (1) proposal with the approved changes, (2) planning tool, (3) documentation of the action steps you accomplished and (4) the reflection. |
