Abstract

The issue of gender minorities and sexuality has been given low visibility in china. These groups do not disclose their identity as well as orientation because they are considered unorthodox. They are as well mistreated by their family members, in their places of work as well as in schools. There are a number of factors affecting the lives of the LGBT people that includes, their daily life, legal and policy environment, their living conditions and their coming out amongst the general public. Sexual as well as gender minorities greatly support equal rights strategy for minorities and a distinct approach. This disclosure reflects the fact that minorities have a physically powerful ambition to have their privileges assured and to see unfairness put to an end. Following the research question on how the LGBTI people are perceived by the Chinese society and the steps that can be taken towards their acceptance and recognition, a number of proposals are made that includes;

· Eliminating Misconceptions about LGBT People

· Supporting the Education on Gender Diversity

· Improving the Cultural and Societal Environment

· Strengthening the Legal Protection for Sexual Minority’s Rights

Sexual and gender minorities are not given much consideration in the world. Even as they are all over China and operate in all kinds of careers, just a minimal number candidly unveil their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression in familiar places like school, areas of work or even during religious activities. The abovementioned proposals should be put into consideration as well as implemented to make the environment of the LGBT people as fairer as possible.
