ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

Provide a one to two-paragraph summary of 10 works to include a synopsis, assessment and reflection on each source. Resources from previous assignments are acceptable provided they still support your problem statement. It should be a minimum of 150 - 250 words and include the following:

Convincing the people into order to agree upon one thing is challenging. While initiating a process to adapting towards one change without organization’s management support it would be challenging to lead one project team.

4. Any shortcomings or biases you notice.

The shortcoming would communication methods such as video conferencing or web cam communications and travel because there are chances of internet issues or computer machine issues. As far as travel is concern there would be challenges such as cancellation of flights or could not able to travel due to weather conditions which would effects the collaborations among the project teams. The project manager’s ability is less in fulfilling the transition needs of the project. As project manager of the organization is not empowered to algin the project goals to the organization’s strategy.

Source 2: Agile Principles Unleashed: Proven Approaches for Achieving Real Productivity in Any Organization

1. Explanation of the main purpose of the source

The main purpose of this source is to explain the importance of agile in retail companies. As every requirement’s importance can be explained from the user story as part of benefit so that project would be confident in how much amount of time the requirements would be accomplished.

2. Short summary of key findings or arguments of the source

The key finding of this source is requirements are more important aspects of the project phase. After clear explanation of the requirements by the users or customers. The project team will take chance to ask more question to seek clarification on how exactly the requirements need to developed, tested and deployed into production environment.

3. Identified gaps in the research identified

Even though the agile involves less documentation work, but it is important have at least some part of documentation. The reason why in agile methodology also documentation is required as I observed that in the organization nothing is permanent as people come and go at the same time processes and technologies also evolve and get modified. It is important for new individuals to who come to organization to have minimum documentation because the new employees can understand the processes and get the knowledge transferred and easily get aligned to work according the project’s expectations and goals.

4. Any shortcomings or biases you notice

The shortcomings what I identified was organizations including retail companies have implemented agile without proper exposure and knowledge towards the methodology. Few organizations have less trust in their employees in terms giving opportunity to lead or take the decisions in the project.

5. Value of this work as a contribution to the field of project management

The value towards the project management would be there should be continuous tracking on the project. The continuous tracking on the project includes delivery backlog in order to track day-to-day tasks. The burndown chart is really important to know how much work is been accomplished in the past iterations and how remaining work would be accomplished in the upcoming iterations. The monitoring of the project work is really important to know how the requirements are been developed, tested and deployed on time.

3. Identified gaps in the research identified

In the agile projects which are already involved in the retail domains, there would be organization which aren’t successful enough in the agile methodology. It is important to implement and follow sprint retrospective to make sure lessons are learnt in the project and make sure the mistakes won’t repeat again and again so that the project can be accomplished successfully.

4. Any shortcomings or biases you notice

I did not notice or came across any shortcomings from the source which I referred.

5. Value of this work as a contribution to the field of project management

Source 4: Agile Manufacturing: the 21st Century Competitive Strategy

1. Explanation of the main purpose of the source

The main purpose of this source is to explain about how the design and development takes place in the agile. As we know how the industrial revolution has been taking place from day to day life.

2. Short summary of key findings or arguments of the source

The retail business importance has been increasing a lot day by day. The retail companies also reacting according to the market demand. The organization’s capability should be good in terms of performance, having cooperative relationships and having multiple skill requirements. Evaluation of ideas is important aspect because strategies can be identified.

3. Identified gaps in the research identified

In the organizations, there is chance of uncertainties may occur without any clear directions so it would be challenging for the organization to develop vision. The organization also faced tough time to know what exactly needs to be accomplished. This would cause delay in the project to start and it is important for senior management to laid down a clear vision of the project so that it would be comfortable for the project team to work towards the goal.

4. Any shortcomings or biases you notice

The shortcoming what I noticed was in the full deployment where every feature is been deployed strategically and effectively. But, after deploying there is not guarantee of not getting any issues. After getting everything deployed into production, there should be post production support to resolve minor issues faced by the customer in order to make sure product or service is utilized comfortably and reliably.

5. Value of this work as a contribution to the field of project management

The project objectives are important which needs to be defined strategically. The planning and development will done correctly when the requirements are defined as per the acceptance criteria. The monitoring of requirements should be done so that quality of execution will be accomplished correctly according to the project plan.
