Summary of Strengths:
· I am competent in Non-invasive CPAP/BIPAP because I have undergone extensive training and experience providing respiratory therapy to patients. I understand the prominence of using a non-invasive method to treat respiratory conditions and have the skills to effectively administer CPAP and BIPAP therapy (Song et al., 2021). Knowledge of the equipment and techniques involved in non-invasive respiratory therapy allows me to accurately assess and monitor patients, making you a valuable asset in the healthcare field. · I am also competent in immobilization device application and management in a clinical context because of my extensive training and experience in this area. I have gained extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and my understanding of patient care and safety, allowing me to apply immobilization devices effectively and efficiently. · I am perfect and confident in presenting patient history based on medical records. I am skilled at selecting the appropriate device for each patient based on their needs and medical history. I can manage and adjust the device as needed to ensure optimal patient outcomes. · I am also competent in conducting cervical spine trauma assessments to determine possible neurology injuries. I can conduct primary assessment to determine life-threatening conditions, conduct imaging to determine injuries and do physical examination (Song et al., 2021). I am competent in presenting patients' medical history based on their medical records. I have attained this capability because of my communication and listening skills. · I can administer alternative medications, particularly inhaled or transdermally applied, without the need for supervision (Dağ et al., 2019). I am also capable of competently assessing vital signs, including heart rate, temperature, blood pressure, and respiratory rate, among others. |
Opportunities for Growth:
· There is an opportunity for progression in delivering Radiology reports such as interpreting CT, X-ray, and MRI. I have observed that I can enhance my competencies in evaluating cervical spine trauma by investigating CT, X-rays, and MRA. To enhance my expertise in producing effective radiology reports, I plan to incorporate various automatic outcomes into a clear and comprehensible summary (Fathoni et al., 2013). Additionally, I will conduct thorough research to acquire additional health-related details about the patients. · Similarly, I can improve my compartment pressure measurement and management skills through continuing education courses in nursing. I can also explore online resources and do more research to understand the best compartment pressure management techniques. I can also seek opportunities to gain practical experience in compartment pressure measurement and management by working with experienced healthcare professionals or participating in clinical rotations or internships. · I have realized that my skills in managing ventilator settings could be better. I do not have any experience with AC, SIMV, CPAP, or analyzing ABGs to guide settings for Fi02 and PEEP. To ensure that I can efficiently administer non-invasive procedures, I plan to improve my ability to manage ventilators. I will focus on furthering my studies to gain more skills in handling and setting ventilators (Fathoni et al., 2013). Additionally, I will seek guidance from my colleagues who are proficient in setting them up to ensure that I can provide the best possible care for my patients. |
Write three to four (3–4) possible goals and objectives for this practicum experience. Ensure that they follow the SMART Strategy described in the Learning Resources.
Goal One: To enhance my nursing skills, especially in emergency care, to provide quality and safe care. Objective One: To enhance my academic and professional qualifications through higher education attainment. Adhere to patient safety standards when providing care. Goal Two: To provide the highest level of care to patients experiencing respiratory distress. Objective Two: To quickly assess each patient's condition, implement appropriate interventions, and closely monitor their progress to ensure they receive the necessary treatment and support they need to recover. Goal Three: Provide effective and relevant patient medical history necessary to save the patient's life in emergency care. Objective Three: Increase my EMR utilization skills to help me access medical records, increase my communication and listening skills and augment my research skills.
