What are the characteristic of an effective learning environment

Some of the characteristics of an effective learning environment include maintaining a positive and safe environment in which high-quality teaching takes place. Teachers need to ensure that they demonstrate to the students’ effective class leadership through being in charge of the class democratically (Charles, & Cole, 2019). (example, how to do it?)They are required to engage their students in a considerate and compassionate way through sharing of decision-making and responsibility. (be more specific, reflect and connect!) It can be done by providing an opportunity for the student to explain the concept or demonstrate the concept so that the teacher can be able to gauge their level of understanding of the student and even repeat the concept so that the student can be able to understand it more clearly.

An effective learning environment needs to be flexible and open. Flexibility refers to the ability to combine various classes into one for team teaching, such as splitting the class into the various small groups simultaneously spreading over a wide area. At the same time, bringing different classes studying similar learning areas (Charles, & Cole, 2019). An example can be one class split into different groups: painting, modeling, art, and music groups. This will assist the learners with the different talents to develop their skills. At the same time, the teacher can combine different classes that study similar subjects into one class, such as music class.

Designed based on extensive research

The school design regarding building, especially the education facility, needs to be collaborative and incorporate the school community such as students, teaching staff, board members, and specialized architects. When teaching in class, the teacher needs to be aware of the student that might be having different challenges, such as those with short sight need to be put in front so that they can be able to see the blackboard clearly. The class arrangement should be designed to allow the teacher to move freely and attend to each student's while teaching.

Overall quality

The expert in the education sector in a quality school facility requires having a lasting impression on the educational experience and the student's learning activity while providing the teacher with an opportunity to be engaged. Unlike the traditional class, where the teachers used to stand in front of the class as they impacted the student (Charles, & Cole, 2019). The current class is more flexible. The teachers engage the students by engaging them in a different class, such as the environment where they have to visit their surroundings, such as the park, during learning class. The learning is confined to a class, but learning involves the practice where the student gets to engage in different activities such as modeling, painting, and even practicing playing a different musical instrument.

Conclusion

An effective class environment requires the incorporation of different stakeholders such as directors’ schools’ administration, ministries, parents, and teachers. It entails providing the necessary facility, equipment, and skill application that will ensure that the teacher can impart education to the student. The school administration can ensure that teachers provide learning equipment tools that will enhance teacher-student cooperation, such as books, student desk chairs, tables, and well-spaced classrooms.
