Based on Chapter 3 in your Text (P. 81 - 100) and/or your power point on Sociological Theories related to gang membership,  write a short  2 page report in APA format.

Your writing assignment is divided into sections:

1.  Cover Page - Separate

2. Introduction -  Identify a sociological theory, define it, and explain how it may relate to gang membership.

3. Body of the Report - Watch the video in your D2L Module about Ruben Mendoza.  Give a summary of the video.  Discuss why Ruben joined the gang.  Relate his story to a sociological concept or theory.  Identify two specific examples of the theory you found in Ruben's story. 

4. Reflection - Reflect on Ruben's story.  How did his story connected with you?  Why did Ruben become a gang member? Could Ruben have avoided gangs?  Is Ruben's story the exception or the rule?  Do you think sociological theories are valid as a way to try and understand gangs and gang membership?

5. Conclusion - Write a one paragraph summary of your paper
