3.4 Me 262 Case Study

Activity: Provide a critical analysis of the design of the Me262.  

Activity Guidelines: 

Use at least five references in your report from the  Hunt Library . You are encouraged to use the Hunt Library and its databases to conduct your research. As a starting point, you may use the Aircraft Design and Development Research Guide below to get started, which offers a variety of resources related to the field, such as peer-reviewed articles, books, and industry websites.

· Research and include at least one additional current reference you find on your own. 

· There should be a minimum of six references in your report. 

· Provide an executive summary of three pages exactly. 

Format should be:

1. Background, context, perspective, history, enabling technological advances, and so forth

2. Design goals and top level requirements

3. Cost, materials, technical, and environmental constraints

4. Trades made to achieve selected optimum

5. Final design effectiveness evaluation, strengths, and weaknesses

6. Lessons learned applicable to today.
