Neutrality and modesty

A good leader creates an environment where individuals around him or her feel appreciated and respected. Also, a good leader must know how to make work-life balance with other aspects in life. Therefore, to be a good leader, one must have the ability to face and balance various aspects of life.

Aspirations and attentiveness

A good leader has good visions and he/she takes time to hear what others have to say. A good leader should also motivate employees to work towards their visions by being a good example. For example, by being optimistic, by carrying out duties effectively and efficiently and consider remedies for any barriers to achieving organizational goals.

Dignity and amiability

A good leader should be good to the people he/she is leading. A leader should possess good ethical characteristics that will motivate people to work nicely towards achieving organizational goals (Olanrewaju & Okorie, 2019).

Attributes of a manager

Planning and organizing

A good manager must have the ability to look at resources available in an organization and plan how to use them to achieve the organization’s goals. A manager must also be well organized so that the people he/she is managing will follow suit.

Flexibility

A good manager must have the ability to adapt to the dynamic economy no matter how it changes. He/she must find ways to make new changes according to the trends in the markets and changes in consumer needs.

Understanding

A good manager must be concerned about the welfare of people he/she is leading and help them whenever they need help (Kohail et al., 2016).

Personal work experience

Supervisors in my place of work are leaders. They follow up on us (employees) and ensure that work is done in a good way. For example, they monitor work reporting hours and ensure that no one is late. Another way that they ensure the work is done correctly is by checking our charting. If any information is missed or incorrectly entered, the supervisor will address the error to the employee directly. There are surveys that get sent out to patients where they provide feedback not the care provided to them during their visit. The supervisor will take the feedbacks into consideration when doing our annual evaluations.

My manager is willing to do anything she can to help. If one of us has something going on in our personal life she will let us take all the time we need and she will jump into work in our place if she could not find coverage.

Sincerity

Integrity is the most valuable. Though it's not necessary for either the employee or the business, integrity is critical for the professional and the team. For top-level executives, who make decisions on a wide array of issues, who are charged with charting the course of a company, its future, it is especially important to have their ability to look at each item from many angles. According to our results, it is likely that organizational integrity may be blind (Aonl.org. 2021). The key to building long-term success is the emphasis on integrity in the people at all levels must insist on honesty

Involvement

One of a leader's primary responsibilities is the performance of tasks but making effective use of them can be challenging. Your goal is not to liberate yourself but also to enable cooperation, inspire leadership, and assist decision-making. Trust in your team must be created before successful delegation can occur.

Communication

The better your communication skills, the better your leadership abilities would be. You must be able to communicate on several levels, whether it's conveying information to your teammates or training them. You must be able to listen and react to different points of view. The better your communication is, the better your business strategy would be. Discovering better ways to engage with customers will help the company culture flourish.

Competitive skills

A manager's technical skills are made up of advanced knowledge and experience. Technological skills include budgeting, programming, design, and market analysis. Supervisory managers should focus on these as they spend most of their time with the goods and services they make.

Proficiency in human relations skills

Managers use human relations to accomplish objectives by using human resources. These skills have the capacity to understand human nature, engage in a coordinated action, and raise people to their maximum potential. Constructive feedback and motivating employees are all have something in common. You need to be mindful of their individual needs to create strong relationships (American Psychological Association, 2020). Managers need to identify and encourage human expertise in order to survive. If a manager doesn't have people skills, he or she can lead and anger people.

Brainstorming Ideas

Conceptual abilities are powerful resources because they help you see the overall context, focus on how interdependent different elements are, and show how an entity reacts to its environment. These talents help managers to determine situations and come up with different solutions. A manager at the top of the management hierarchy requires good leadership skills.

The direct supervisors have been both leaders and managers. There are several instances where the supervisors have acted both as leaders and managers. For instance, in our annual project in the health facility, the direct supervisor participated in brainstorming ideas that would help in the completion of the project in the expected time frame. The supervisor was involved in the project undertaking, where he facilitated timely communication with the members. The supervisor indicated integrity when the organization had issues dealing with funding from sponsors without the consent of the organization. Every deal in the organization was put to light for all the stakeholders' consent and accounted for all the activities. These scenarios indicate that the supervisor acted both as a manager and leader, which provides maximum results.
