Detailed Architectural Analysis on Dubai's Museum of the Future

Dear Students,

For this Research Paper, you are expected to choose a building in the United Arab Emirates (mosque, hotel, residential home) and do a detailed artistic and architectural analysis of it. I do not expect you to make site visits, but you can use images from the internet and then compare it to what we have studied in class. The paper makes up for 20% of your final grade. This is NOT an expository paper in which you merely just describe the building. You will be examining, discussing, analyzing and drawing your own conclusions. You will be expected to express your own ideas in the paper which should be based on your research along with information gathered in class, internet and the library. I want you to treat this essay as a thesis. The essay should be as visually stimulating as well as theoretically. It must be structured with a title page, content page, your detailed examination of the buildings with a clear conclusion at the end. You must site all the sources and write clearly in MLA intext citation. 

The overall objective is for you to display your critical understanding of techniques and ideas along with your ability to express, evaluate and comprehend the subject matter. The paper should have a strong core idea which is expressed throughout the essay. You are expected to use all research methods. The essay must be submitted on time on Turninit. You can use up to 3000-3500 words. The deadline is 8PM on 15th of November . I will not accept late essays so please make sure you upload it be on time. 

When you have decided which building you are going to do your research on, you MUST tell me in class the name of the structure. You cannot proceed with the paper until you have got the go ahead from me.

* Title page with details of the paper, with your signed declaration that it is you work.

* Index page.

* The composition must be structured with integrated photos/ images.

* Conclusion clearly explained.

* Bibliography and sites used.

* Appendix with additional photos (optional)

* MLA intext citation.
