Assignment #1 Chapter 1 Resort Concept

What is the difference between hotel and resort? Both establishments provide temporary lodging for guests. Yet a classic hotel stay is different from a resort experience. Compare both services with more focus on resort management, write a constructive comparison between two. 

You are required to write a constructive criticism about the topic and upload your file to Canvas. You need to articulate and support your arguments with external references such as journals, newspaper articles and your personal observations from the industry. There is no word limit, but please be concise and insightful. Discussion contributions should be well thought out and documented.

First paragraph 15 points

Write one paragraph about the difference between hotels and resorts: Define what is a hotel. Define what is a resort. How are they different in terms of their clientele, target market, operations and management? What are the challenges unique to both concepts?

Second paragraph 15 points

Third paragraph 15 points

Pick a journal or newspaper article regarding hotel and/or resort. Write about what the article states regarding the difference between hotels and resorts.
