Thesis and Outline
What do x-rays, radio, remote controls, pay pal, space, and electric cars have in common? Their inventors. Nikola Telsa and Elon Musk to be exact. Both creative geniuses went through very similar struggles to make their visions a reality despite all the obstacles they had to endure (West, 2012)
Nikola Tesla was persecuted by the energy power brokers of his day, namely Edison, and was even ran out of a job (West, 2012). Elon Musk is likewise taking the heat for his inventions, namely the electric car, as the gas and oil moguls can’t make a profit off of it (Davies, 2013).
Credit was taken away from Tesla on the invention of the Radio; it was given to Guglielmo Marconi until a heated legal battle began and it took the Supreme Court to rule that Tesla was the true inventor (West, 2012). Likewise, Musk has had many legal battles as well protecting his own inventions, one being the electronic logs of his electric car line (Davies, 2013).
These are just a few of the many examples where Nikola Tesla and Elon Musk are alike. They are both creative geniuses. True tech gurus of their day yet they are met with criticism, slander, jealousy, and those trying to ruin and discredit them in order to profit themselves and how they had to overcome those struggles to bring their inventions to life.
