Resource Management Plan

Resource Management Plan
Introduction
The selected project in the previous unit is an office relocation. An office relocation involves moving the activities of the office from one location to another. An office relocation could be because of a need for a bigger space or sometimes the old office rent and expenses could be too high for an organization to afford. This part of the assignment looks at various aspects such as the resources needed for the project, human resources and the raw materials.
People needed to plan and execute the project
For the project to be completed various people will be needed to play distinct roles. The office manager is needed to help give guidance on the additions which are needed in the new office and the layout to be used. Finance manager will be used to determine the finances which are needed throughout the project and approving the purchases (Armenia et al., 2019). A project team of around seven people from outside the organization is needed which will include an interior designer, carpenters, electrician, plumber and a building construction expert/ contractor will be needed to ensure completion of the project on time and delivery of a quality office space.
Where the people will be acquired
The finance manager and the office manager will be acquired from within the office while the other people will be acquired from outside the organization. The process of acquiring staff from outside the organization will entail advertising the vacant positions online and through commercials (Michael, 2019). Once the applicants submit applications, the shortlisted candidates will be contacted and asked to come for interviews where the most experienced and highly qualified individuals will be hired for the project.
Materials, equipment, funding, and tools and supplies
There are various materials which are needed for the completion of the project. There is need for bulbs, switches, fluorescent tubes and Air conditioners. There is also need for materials such as water pipes, toilet seats, toilet flashes, and water taps. There is need for wood to fix the shelves and create additional storage in the new office. Tools such as hammers, pliers among others will be used in fixing and removing parts in the office (Picciotto, 2020). There is need for supplies such as stationery, books, punches, pens, staplers. Supplies such as printers, photocopiers, and software are needed for the office. The office will need funding of around $500,000 for completion and relocation.
Where (and how) I will acquire these resources
The varied materials will be sourced differently. The funding of the office relocation will be done entirely by the organization. The organization will make an allocation for the project from its retained and accumulated earnings. The materials and supplies for the completion of the project will be done from local suppliers (Armenia et al., 2019). An order will be written and approved by the management of the office. Once it is approved it will be sent to the concerned suppliers after which they can initiate the delivery of the products to the location for the project.
Teambuilding, team development, and team motivation
Team building will involve a retreat for the project team where they will be briefed about the scope of the project and what is expected from each of them. A team spirit will be highly encouraged, and the importance of collaboration will be emphasized. The team will be motivated through non-monetary and monetary rewards.
